Asteroids

According to space.com [1], in 2018, about 17,000 big near-Earth asteroids (NEA) remained undetected. In 2019, a 100-meter asteroid skimmed past the Earth with only 24-hour advance notice [2].  The Earth has been miraculously saved so many times in the past. Is it “blind luck”? Or is it the mercy of the Lord?

Sun Scorching

Provided by NASA Earth observatory extracted on June 27, 2023

This graph from NASA [1] shows that the last 9 years have been the warmest on record. As shown, this world is getting hotter and hotter. And the increasing heat could accelerate the ice melting, especially in Antarctica’s Pine Island Ice Shelf, so as to increase the global sea level [2]. This causes more flooding around the seashore areas.

Global warming and climate change are to blame.  However, the Tanakh in Genesis tells us that there is a Creator who created the world.  Although some climate changes are considered man-made consequences, we believe our Creator controls the weather.  Could God use climate change as judgment?

Deuteronomy 28:23-24 ESV  “23 And the heavens over your head shall be bronze, and the earth under you shall be iron. 24 The Lord will make the rain of your land powder. From heaven dust shall come down on you until you are destroyed..

The earth is burning

British Columbia is known as a rainy province. However, the recent weather network showed that they only had 19.9mm of precipitation in June 2023, 41.5% less than normal!

Less rain, sun scorching, earth burning, heat, and dry weather—no wonder Canada has wildfires that are unprecedented. In NPR OPB news on 7/1/2023, due to the heat and dry weather, there were over 500 wildfires in Canada and its smoke blankets all over the Midwest and Eastern part of the USA. Again, this is an unprecedented phenomenon for a country that has never experienced it before [1].

Through the news around the world, countries like Australia, Europe, the USA, and even places like Alaska and Siberia have experienced the same unprecedented wildfires as well!

Psalms 147:8-9 ESV “8 He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills. 9 He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry.”
